CACI is in partnership with Adult Learning and Empowerment Facilitators (ALEF), Sweden. The program is implemented in Wakiso District and supported by ALEF. This intervention is designed for young people and adults aged 15-50 years, with a priority. given to women, especially mothers of school age children. It empowers the beneficiaries through learning reading, writing and numeracy as tools for taking control of their lives economically and socially. Literacy is the first step to taking charge of one’s life and gaining access to different arenas of society. It is a condition of functioning democracy and being able to develop and use one’s inner and outer resources.
