“The Health of a Child Is Our Priority; Every Child Deserves Safe Water”

Change African Child International (CACI) supports clean water, safe sanitation, and proper hygiene as fundamental rights — especially for children and vulnerable families.

Cleaning and protecting water sources.

We believe that the power of the community is the strongest tool in achieving clean, safe water. By working together to clean and protect water resources like natural springs, boreholes and community wells, local residents are safeguarding their environment and also protecting the health of their children.

Water tanks and handwashing stations in schools We support schools with water tanks and handwashing stations to ensure reliable access to safe water for learners.

Advocating for stronger WASH.

CACI advocates for improved WASH access in communities, schools, healthcare facilities, and public spaces. We mobilize communities to participate in regular clean-up activities, sanitation awareness, and hygiene promotion campaigns.

Climate Program.

Change African Child International (CACI) is committed to building climate-resilient communities through practical, people-centered solutions that protect the environment and improve livelihoods.

Waste Management: From Waste to Worth.

Through our “From Waste to Worth” initiative, we empower families to turn waste into opportunity. We train households in proper waste sorting techniques, helping them separate organic from inorganic waste.

Inorganic materials, particularly plastic bottles, are creatively repurposed into crafts and household items that are sold for income or supplied to recycling companies.

Organic waste is dried, carbonized, and mixed with soil to produce eco-friendly briquettes, which are used for cooking and sold in local markets. This model promotes environmental cleanliness, reduces dependence on firewood, and supports sustainable income generation at the household level.

Tree Planting: One Child, One Tree

Under our “One Child, One Tree” campaign, we promote the creation of green spaces and encourage children to take personal responsibility for the environment.

So far, over 900 trees have been planted across schools and communities. Each child is encouraged to plant a tree and care for it until it fully grows.
